1881 – The Philadelphia & Reading Railroad constructed an ornate crew dispatch and telegraph office on the south side of West Broad Street at the crossing in 1881. It was locally referred to as the QA Office because ‘QA’ was Tamaqua’s call sign on the telegraph system.
